It was a one click install with my hosting provider (register1.net) - but make sure you get an up to date version (the latest I believe as I write this is version 2.10.4) - I had some problems getting a previous version to work properly with html emails - but thanks to the fantastic guys at the phplist forums and register1.net - it is now working great for me...
